Class 4

Welcome to Class Four’s page for 2024-2025

Hello and welcome to Class Four’s page, here is our class scripture quote-

Matthew 5:16 (NASB95) - Matthew 5:16 NASB95 - “Let your light shine… | Biblia.

Our topic this half term is Please sir, can I have some more? This links to learning about Fair Trade and cooking healthy meals.  The Knowledge organiser for the topic is here- https://www.lea-st-marys.lancs.sch.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Please-Sir-Can-I-have-some-more.pdf

Our English learning this half term will link to the book ‘The Nowhere Emporium’ by Ross Mackenzie. We will read this book as our class novel and then complete a range of writing opportunities linked to it. Our Maths learning will begin around studying place value, a very

important skill to have in order to achieve in all aspects of Mathematics. We will then move on to study addition and subtraction. All Maths lesson begin with a Flashback 4 activity where we complete quick mental maths questions linked to previous learning. This can be supported at home by regular practise of multiplication tables.  Further down this page you will find the link to Times Table Rockstars which will support this.

In RE, we are studying The Kingdom of God and learning what we can do, as Catholics, to bring about God’s Kingdom. In Science, we are studying Forces and will complete investigations around the effect that friction, air/water resistance can have on an object. In Geography we are learning about Trade by researching what products the UK imports and exports and how Fair Trade helps our global neighbours. In DT we will be learning about the seasonality of ingredients and how to plan and make a balanced meal. What a busy half term!!!

Here you will find some information about our weekly routines and homework. Regular updates and photographs

will be shared with parents using the SeeSaw app so if you are not able to access this please just contact me. My email is taylor@lea-st-marys.lancs.sch.uk.
