St Mary's Catholic Primary School

Curriculum

Our Liturgical Season is: Lent

At St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School we work hard to support pupils to develop a love of learning through a broad and balanced curriculum which is engaging and exciting.

As well as provide pupils with curriculum coverage we work hard to enable pupils to develop life skills to prepare them for the years ahead. We support and encourage pupils to explore, be active learners, think and persevere. As Christ is at the centre of all we do at St. Mary’s school we also support children to “Live their lives as Jesus taught us” and be kind and considerate to all.

We recognise that every pupil is unique and every learner has different needs and so plan to include a variety of learning styles within our teaching and curriculum provision. Pupils are encouraged to contribute to and shape their own learning. Staff account for individual needs both areas for development as well as areas of strength.

To provide a rich engaging curriculum we look to provide visits, visitors and a variety of experts and external coaches. Our staff and pupils gain expertise and are supported to try new things!

We meet all statutory requirements of the National Curriculum. Please click on one of the subjects below to explore our Curriculum and see overview documents, progression documents and the Lancashire Planning and Assessment frameworks.
